Billing and Payment Center by Touchnet access is added by the student inside the Billing and Payments Center Portal. Please note, this is different login credentials than the Parent Portal. * Parent Portal access is granted by the Student on the Parent Access link of the Student Tab on the Appalnet.
To access the portal click on the following links below: *Students must first authorize their authorized users inside the New Billing and Payments Center by Touchnet. This requires action on the student's part as any existing Parent Portal authorization does not sync with the parent portal. New credentials for the authorized user are required.
Effective February 25, 2019, payments are made through the NEW Appalachian State University Billing and Payments Center by Touchnet. A non-refundable 2.85% fee (minimum $3.00 charge), also referred to as a "convenience fee," is assessed by a third parth for all online card transactions. We do not accept payment over the phone.
The Student Accounts Office is comprised of two functional areas - Cashier’s Office and the Perkins Loan Servicing Center. The Cashier’s Office is responsible for the billing, receipting, and depositing of all University related funds.
It is important for your student to grant you access to their Student Accounts information and provide your email address on their Appalnet account so that you will receive an email notification when bills are generated. You may access the most recent information about Student Accounts related topics on their Website.
As parents of an Appalachian State University student please be aware that Appalachian does not send bills by the US Postal Service. All bills are emailed to the student’s Appalachian email address.

The student must follow these steps to grant access: 1 the student logs into AppalNet using the student's ASU username and password 2 the student selects the Parent Access option by selecting the Student tab, then the "Parent Access" link. (The "Parent Access" link is also available from the "Student Accounts" link). 3 the student must enter the First Name, Middle Name and Last Name of the parent, guardian or third party to get access 4 the student may enter the e-mail address of the parent or guardian so that they may receive e-mail notifications from Student Accounts when bills are available online 5 the student chooses a 6-digit PIN number to be used by parent or guardian 6 the student selects which type of information will be accessible by parent or guardian 7 the student selects the "Submit" button 8 the student will give the Banner ID and selected PIN to parent, guardian or third party
