In accordance with the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), Appalachian State University and the Office of the Registrar are not able to provide confidential information pertaining to students unless written consent is provided by the student. This consent is done electronically by the student through their AppalNet account.
As parents of an Appalachian State University student please be aware that Appalachian does not send bills by the US Postal Service. All bills are emailed to the student’s Appalachian email address.
To access the portal click on the following links below: *Students must first authorize their authorized users inside the New Billing and Payments Center by Touchnet. This requires action on the student's part as any existing Parent Portal authorization does not sync with the parent portal. New credentials for the authorized user are required.

The Student Accounts Office is comprised of two functional areas - Cashier’s Office and the Perkins Loan Servicing Center. The Cashier’s Office is responsible for the billing, receipting, and depositing of all University related funds.
It is important for your student to grant you access to their Student Accounts information and provide your email address on their Appalnet account so that you will receive an email notification when bills are generated.
