With about 560 public charters in Arizona, we are a powerful force when united.
In 2020, Arizona had approximately 560 public charter schools. These are public schools serving public students, Arizona’s charter schools are contracted with the state with the purpose of providing excellent academic options for all students and parents. Arizona public charter students comprise almost 21% of K-12 student enrollment in our state.

Governor Doug Ducey announced that the state of Arizona along with the Arizona Department of Education are requiring school closures in an effort to protect students from the COVID-19 virus, also known as the Corona virus. AZACS' physical sites will be closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year due to this state mandate. Teachers and staff will continue supporting students and families through remote learning opportunities. The school is continuing enrollment efforts for students seeking enrollment in the 2020-2021 school year. PCA gives parents more choices and involvement in the education of their children. We partner with parents by providing blended learning options, individualized learning plans, state-subsidized academic programs, and supportive oversight. With PCA, parents have access to high-quality curriculums, materials, and teachers.
As part of PCA’s partnership with parents, we produce a newsletter to keep PCA parents informed about current news, events, and information that pertain to the education of their children. Parents can access newsletter archives here.
PCA provides a matrix to help parents and students determine the credits and courses necessary to meet California requirements for high school graduation or for entrance into a state university. Review sample schedules here.
The advisory council is made up of PCA staff, teachers, parents, and students, and is designed to gather input on school improvements, policies, concerns, and events from the various vested members of the PCA school community. Advisory council meetings are open to the public.
PCA parents have access to Acellus, a web-based learning system that facilitates individualized instruction. Acellus equips students to progress at their own pace and feel successful as they grasp concepts. Acellus operates on the philosophy that every student can succeed in learning.
The SIS Parent Portal login provides parents with the tools they need to keep record of their students grades, find assignments, and ensure that their students are completing work as required.
Parents can sign up their students for PCA field trips, which are offered throughout the year. These trips provide students with opportunities to observe the world outside the classroom and engage in experiential learning experiences.
