Avonside Girls’ High School does ‘Live’ or ‘Real Time’ reporting through the Parent Portal as our primary means of reporting on academic progress. The rationale for this is that ‘Live’ reporting gives whānau and parents immediate feedback on how students are achieving in their subjects.

No accompanying letters, school reports, or testimonials are needed as they have no effect on the outcome. Avonside Girls’ High School is a popular school and is frequently oversubscribed. The Board operates an enrolment scheme to prevent overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding at the school.
Avonside Girls’ High School Board of Trustees has opted into the $150 donations scheme offered by the Government for 2020. This means our Board will not be asking parents for contributions for delivery of the curriculum unless there is an overnight or take-home component.
Enrolment interviews are conducted later in the year, once places have been confirmed.
The Board operates an enrolment scheme to prevent overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding at the school. Each year the Board will determine the number of places that are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone.
Chromebooks and iPads (unless with keyboard and pencil) are not suitable devices for use at AGHS.
BYOD. Avonside has been moving progressively towards BYOD – each student brings their own device for learning at school. Since the beginning of 2019, all students are expected to bring their own devices for learning. A Windows device is the most suitable for our environment.
