How do I create a student portal account at BCIT?

Student Portal accounts will be automatically created when you are registered at BCIT. Your username will be your BCIT e-mail address. Your password will be e-mailed to you. Please look for a Welcome e-mail from the portal.

Where can I find math tutoring in BCIT?

Mr. Pensabene, Student Assistant Counselor & Anti-Bullying Specialist. Drop-in virtual math tutoring is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students can join one of our BCIT math teachers on Google Meet for assistance with their homework, preparing for an assessment, or general questions.

How do I create a username and password for the parent portal?

Parent Portal usernames and passwords will automatically be created when a student is registered at BCIT. Your username will be the e-mail address you provided when completing your child's application online with InfoSnap. Your password will be e-mailed to you.

What do students learn in a critical thinking class?

They will cultivate oral communication skills such as speaking, presenting, and active listening. They will work with peers and fortify collaboration skills.

What are the classes in the English department?

The English department will be offering two virtual classes open to all students: 1 Creative Writing Class: Creative Writing Class is open to all students wanting a fun opportunity to explore their “voice” with the written word! Through diverse activities, games, and personal projects, students will experiment with a great variety of techniques of creative style, reflection, poetic verse, and story-building. 2 Communication in the Classroom: In today’s world students need to know how to process and present information. These skills cross curriculum standards and are a necessary function of everyday life. This course focuses on the importance of 21st Century Skills such as public speaking and presentation in the classroom. Students can revitalize skills that may have been weakened during hybrid learning. Students will be introduced to the process of public speaking and how to break it into manageable components. Students will work on critical thinking, analyzing, and synthesizing information and how to apply that information in discussions. They will cultivate oral communication skills such as speaking, presenting, and active listening. They will work with peers and fortify collaboration skills. Students will also learn how to incorporate creativity and personal expression into their presentations to become comfortable in a live class setting.
