Ask the school what it’s doing to help students who are behind. Understand what on-track learning looks like, and explore higher-performing schools in your area to find the best opportunities for your child to succeed.
In 2018-2019 South Carolina used the End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) to test middle and high school students in Algebra I, Biology I, English I, and US History & the Constitution. The EOCEP provides tests for high school core courses and for courses taken in middle school for high school credit. The EOCEP is a standards-based test program, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of South Carolina. The goal is for all students to score a D or above.
