During the 2020-2021 school year, Bishop Ireton offered over $1.7 million of tuition assistance and scholarships to our students. In collaboration with the Diocese of Arlington, Bishop Ireton has developed a financial aid program to assist families with their commitment to educate their children in the Catholic School tradition.

What are the school hours? The school day is 7:55 am to 3:05 pm. The school office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. During the summer (mid-June through mid-August), the school office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 2 pm and closed on Fridays.

The old Groveton High School on Popkins Lane (opened in 1956) houses the Bryant Alternative High School; the site of Fort Hunt High school (opened in 1963) became Carl Sandburg Middle School, which is the middle school that feeds into West Potomac.

As previously announced, Mrs. Denise Tobin, the current Bishop Ireton principal, is retiring following the completion of this school year. Dr. Guy will assume his duties on July 1, 2021. This fall, nine teams from Bishop Ireton's Economic Club participated in the Virginia Stock Market Game.
Burbidge, upon receiving the recommendation of the search committee and after prayerful discernment, has appointed Dr. Timothy Guy as the school’s new principal.
At the beginning of each month, the full tuition for that month is due regardless of how many days the student attends during that month. Withdrawal forms received before the 15th of the month will stop the future month's tuition payments.

For Catholic applicants, a copy of the student's baptismal certificate from a Catholic church is required to obtain the Catholic tuition rate.
Please have a current teacher, counselor or principal complete the Student Recommendation Form. Students coming from diocesan schools do not need to submit this form as recommendation forms are automatically sent from diocesan schools.
Only the parents of Bishop Ireton athlete seniors may attend . No siblings, fellow students, friends nor visiting team spectators will be allowed entrance to Godley Gym. Only athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and approved spectators will be allowed entrance.
Bishop Ireton High School works closely with the Diocese of Arlington and state and national health officials to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic. The administration at Bishop Ireton will continue to prioritize the health and safety of its students, faculty and staff when making decisions while the pandemic continues.
In light of community needs and due to the announcement from the governor, Bishop Ireton High School will move into the distance learning model beginning next week through Easter Break, with no classes on campus until April 20.
Bishop Ireton High School will remain in our Hybrid Instructional Approach with the Red and Gold student cohort groups already in place. We will be making adjustments to our calendar during the holiday season, which are outlined below.

The transition to eLearning is a necessary measure for our school and all schools nationwide at this time. Bishop Ireton will move forward with distance learning in a way that is focused on opportunities for academic success and based on partnering with families as they deal with real-world technology and logistic issues at home. Teachers have been hard at work developing eLearning plans for each class so that we can continue to provide a quality Catholic education for all students.
Bishop Ireton's college preparatory curriculum has a solid tradition of educating young men and women of faith by offering rigorous academics and strong athletic and fine arts programs in a culture rich with Salesian Spirituality.
They may also be transferrable to private and out-of-state institutions. Dual enrollment courses are taught during the regular school day by Bishop Ireton faculty. Students must meet the pre-requisites and the Northern Virginia Community College application requirements to enroll in a dual enrollment class.
