Our program was created to help teens and their families through challenges that can occur when various behavioral, psychological, or developmental issues are present. Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness provides the opportunity for struggling teens to reset in nature utilizing clinical assessment, therapeutic skill, and a supportive peer culture.
Nestled in the foothills of Northeast Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the Blue Ridge approach supports teens to reconnect with the best version of themselves. The simplicity of life in the wilderness creates a gentle pressure and metaphorical mirror for the challenges our clients face at home.
Wilderness therapy tailored to the unique developmental, physical, and cognitive abilities of adolescent. Adolescents at Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness experience highly individualized wilderness therapy combining primitive living with intensive clinical services.
After a 8-10 week program at Blue Ridge, each student is equipped with a toolkit for success, including tools like how to: form authentic relationships, feel more empowered, communicate effectively, and recognize their strengths. Error: Private Instagram Account.
Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness is a program for the whole family. While the student is often the main reason families enter BRTW, they are still one piece of a larger puzzle.
While your child is enrolled with us, we will request that you also participate in the therapeutic process through a variety of ways.
Your growth and development as a family is integral to the success of your child in our program and beyond. This is why we strive to provide robust family support throughout your child’s entire stay. These resources include access to a Ph.D or Master’s-level Family Therapist as well as other families in our program.
We are grateful to be able to support families in multiple ways during their child’s stay with us. We open up space for camaraderie through our Parent Workshop, weekly support calls, private facebook group, and parent mentorship. We provide one-on-one therapeutic support from a Ph.D or Master’s level Family Therapist.
