Bret Harte Union High School, established in 1905, celebrated its 100th year of operation in 2005. Two elementary school districts feed into the high school district - Vallecito Union School District and the Mark Twain Union Elementary School District. The district community includes foothill communities, pristine lake areas, and high mountains.

The Cherrry Hill Public Schools' Road Forward Committee will recommend to the Board of Education at the February 22, 2022, Action Meeting that the District move to optional masking for all students and staff in our schools beginning March 7, 2022.
