During the week of February 28th- March 4th we will be celebrating Read Across America week. Monday is wear your sports attire. Tuesday is wear your craziest outfit, hair, or socks. Wednesday is dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character. Thursday is wear dress as superheroes. Friday is wear dress in Briggs colors.
Briggs’ Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Program, is a College Readiness System dedicated to preparing all students for college, career and other postsecondary choices. Students receive a rigorous program of instruction in academic "survival skills" and college level readiness skills. The AVID program teaches students how to study, read for content, take notes, and manage time. Students participate in collaborative study groups or tutorials led by tutors who use skillful questioning to bring students to a higher level of understanding. Gateway is “activity oriented” to show students how technology is used in engineering to solve everyday problems and is designed to spark an interest in STEM subjects as well as prepare students for further study in high school.
