British Swim School is the best. British Swim School is the best swimming school to get your child started on the water. Wonderful instructors and small groups were the perfect combination to help my daughter learn from survival strategies to her first strokes in just a couple of lessons.
Our unique method was developed almost 40 years ago by a former Olympic swimmer for England (thus the name British Swim School…) and we have taught hundreds of thousands of students nationwide how to be safe in the water.
Our curriculum-based program begins with the foundation of water survival first, followed by learn-to-swim programs. And while our students recognize that swimming is a lifelong, lifesaving skill, we also make learning exciting through a structured program of songs, games and fun! Here’s the problem.
The swim instructor works one-on-one with each child following the same structure and emphasis on water survival as the Swimboree kids and baby swimming class. While the child is in the water, parents sit on the pool deck and actively participate in their child’s swimming lesson.
Swimmers focus on the correct arm, leg, and breathing coordination for three strokes: freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. Students also get an introduction to butterfly. Students are constantly moving in this swimming class for kids, swimming in groups of twos and threes.
British Swim School provides curriculum-based swimming lessons for any age and skill level, including swim classes for infants, toddlers, children, teens, and adults. Locate the Perfect Class.

There is not just one thing that makes me give British Swim School five stars. It is a unique combination of excellent teachers, effective teaching techniques, and well-rounded staff members. I highly recommended British Swim School.
We don’t just teach swim lessons. We teach water survival skills. Our curriculum-based program begins with the foundation of water survival first, followed by learn-to-swim programs. And while our students recognize that swimming is a lifelong, lifesaving skill, we also make learning exciting through a structured program of songs, games and fun!

Our kids swimming classes are all 30 minutes and very efficient and effective. Even while your child is on the side of the pool, they are watching other students. Usually, there are multiple classes in the water and they are able to watch more advanced classes. Seeing others do what they are learning is an excellent teaching tool. Our instructors interact with all students in a methodical manner, and there is no wasted time during class.
We know that children (and adults) learn best with repetition and fun. Repeating activities within our structured swim class, while engaging swimmers, also releases endorphins which helps increase muscle memory. Group classes are also key in teaching young children to swim because typically, they will repeat what others are doing; floating and having fun!
A child floating on their back is able to breathe and cry for help. As students advance, this skill is also necessary.
