What does the Burnside PTA do?

PTA - Parent-Teacher Association - PTA is to enhance and support the educational experience at Burnside, develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental engagement and to improve the environment at Burnside through volunteer and financial support. PTA Single Membership fee is only $3.00 and $5.00 for Family Membership

This facility was created to improve our ability to communicate with each other. As part of our ongoing commitment to you as a Kumon Mitcham/Burnside parent we will continue to enhance the ways we connect with you, to create more useful resources and to keep our design fresh and tasteful!

What is the Burnside College Weekly Bulletin?

The Burnside College Weekly Bulletin is sent to all parents/carers via email every Friday. It is also available on our website, as well as links on our Facebook and Twitter. It contains important news, updates and celebrates successful Homework and Teaching and Learning moments of the week.

What is a parents evening?

Parents’ Evening allows parents to see teachers’ available parents’ evening appointment times on one screen and choose a time that suits them with ease. Once booked, parents receive an automatic confirmation of the appointment.

Creating a new role

As an administrator, go to Site administration > Users > Permissions > Define roles and click the "Add a new role" button.

Agreeing to policies on behalf of the child

If the parent has been given the Capabilities/tool/policy:acceptbehalf then they can click on the child's profile, click the Policies and agreements link and agree to the policies there:

Adding the Mentees Block

This block needs to be added so parents can see links to their child's profile.

How a parent sees their child's activities

Once the mentees block has been added, a parent/mentor sees the link to any children/mentees they are responsible for.
