From its founding in 1829, Burr and Burton has been an independent academy serving as the local high school for area students while attracting students from outside the state for its rigorous educational standards and the excellence of the faculty.
Last Friday, the Burr and Burton ACCESS Program completed an integrative learning project that brought together science, woodworking, and community service. Burr and Burton's high-caliber courses in academics, athletics, and the arts provide students of all abilities and backgrounds robust opportunities for growth and exploration.

The Performing Arts Department offers over a dozen major performance opportunities throughout the year in addition to a range of classes that emphasize the creative process.#N#Nearly 40 students per year participate in the internship program, developing valuable practical skills in a real-life, real-world setting.#N#Students currently serve in 115 leadership positions throughout the school: as mentors to freshmen, as Service Learning leaders, as student ambassadors, as members of student council and/or the National Honor Society, in Bulldog Leadership workshops, and on a student policy advisory board.#N#BBA has 3 satellite campuses: Target, the BBA-Dene Farm, and the Mountain Campus.
Interscholastic Sports. A Winning Tradition: BBA has won 107 state championships. Offering 46 Sports Teams at the Varsity Level and 29 at the Junior Varsity Level: Varsity Alpine Skiing--Boys and Girls; Baseball--Varsity and JV; Basketball--Boys (Varsity and 2 levels of JV) and Girls (Varsity and 2 levels of JV);
