Cal Poly accepts paper checks by mail. Payments can only be credited to the Student Account when the check arrives at the Cashiers Office and can be posted. Please allow extra time for postal delivery - can be as much as 2-3 weeks.

Financial Aid is managed by our Financial Aid Office. All questions about Aid prior to disbursement should be directed to them.
If the credit check is not approved, the parent will be asked to indicate one of the following: They are going to pursue the loan by obtaining an endorser (co-signer). The parent will work directly with the origination center and Cal Poly will be notified once the loan is approved.
Parent PLUS Loans. Parent PLUS loans allow parents to borrow money to help pay the educational expenses of their dependent undergraduate. The maximum that a family can borrow is the total cost of attendance minus all other financial aid awarded to the student.
Be enrolled at least half-time (6+ credits for undergraduate or credential students and 4+ credits for graduate students).
Repayment begins 60 days after the loan's final disbursement. Parent PLUS Loan borrowers may choose to have repayment deferred while their student is enrolled at least half-time and for an additional six months after that student is no longer enrolled at least half-time.
For loans received between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021, the interest rate is 5.3%.
Cal Poly Charges Tuition-Registration one quarter at a time, based on enrollment. On Campus Housing and Dining charges are usually posted for the entire year.
Registration-Tuition Fees are posted on a quarterly basis. The system-wide "Fee Past Due Date" shows for ALL students (regardless of Financial Aid status) in the "Unpaid Charges" sub-tab of Money Matters as well as "Activity Details" in the payment portal or "Charges by Due Date" in Share My Information reports.

Student Accounts did a SLO Days Orientation program about Money Matters for Mustang Supporters. The slide deck from that presentation inlcuded a punch list of focus points for the summer as well as several tips on how to make paying for a Cal Poly education as simple and stress-free as possible.

Former residents that left items in their room due to COVID-19 can now schedule a move-out appointment to retrieve their items. Please encourage your student to utilize their Housing Portal to select from scheduled move-out arrival and departure times over a period of weeks.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, in order to maximize student access, all group therapy for Spring 2020 will be offered in virtual formats. Group Therapy is when a group of no more than 8-10 students meet with 1-2 therapists for 60-90 minutes.
TRIO Achievers program, also known as Student Support Services (SSS), is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and has been a part of Cal Poly services to students since 1984. We aid at least 258 active students every year. Students who participate in the program come from every academic department and major on campus.
