What is Camp Sam?

Camp SAM is designed specifically for the active child who loves to be outdoors, playing games, swimming, being creative and is eager to learn more about sports. Camp SAM campers are provided with a well-rounded, fun-filled summer experience. Camp SAM campers are grouped according to their age and school grade.

How can I get updates from Camp Tecumseh?

Welcome, parents! While your child is at camp, you can come here to view photos, watch videos, and get other updates from Camp Tecumseh. You can also send an email to your camper. Why send your child to summer camp?

In a less pressured atmosphere such as camp, children are able to explore and develop their competencies in the following areas: To provide parents with a fun, safe environment for their children. To improve the overall physical fitness of your children. To pave the way for children to build confidence, competence and pride in themselves.

What is camp Sam?

The Camp SAM experience is designed to encourage children to try new things, learn new skills, acquire self-confidence, and feel a sense of belonging in our community. Thank you for entrusting your children to our care; it is a privilege to see all of our campers progress from week to week, and year to year.

When did Priscilla return to Camp SAM?

After holding this position for three years, Priscilla made her up through the titles of Coordinator, Program Director, and eventually, Camp Director in 2013. After a four-year hiatus, Priscilla returned to Camp SAM as the Camp SAM Coordinator, and in 2020, she became the Camp SAM Co-Director.

How are camp staff screened?

All staff members are thoroughly screened through an application process, interview, and reference checks. The potential staff members then undergo a thorough background check to ensure the safety of our campers. They are also subject to random drug screenings throughout the summer.

In the event your campers week changes after your order has been placed, it is important to call our office at 585-346-2243.

Do you need a stamp to say hello at camp?

You don’t need a stamp to say hello at Camp. Stay in touch with your child throughout the week via email. Make sure to include your child’s name and cabin name in the subject line. 50 cents will be charged to your child’s Trading Post account for each page. Campers can’t email outgoing messages, but they can write letters home.
