What is Carlsbad High School?

Carlsbad High School serves all students by providing a supportive, engaging, and challenging education grounded in standards-based instruction. In order to provide opportunities that will lead students toward rewarding careers and lifelong learning, CHS encourages high levels of student achievement and engagement in all academic areas. Students and staff work together to develop a community where diversity, acceptance, and tradition are respected and create an environment where students feel comfortable and thrive.

Does CUSD adhere to health and safety regulations?

CUSD will adhere to local & state Dept. of Public Health orders, prioritizing the health & safety of our students and staff. These guidelines are subject to change based on local, state, and federal directives.

When will 9th graders be able to declare high school?

All District students entering 9th grade have the opportunity to declare which high school they wish to attend in the Fall of 2021 by submitting their high school selection online during the filing period beginning January 11, 2021, and ending on February 5, 2021.

When do you declare high school in CUSD?

During this process, they will be prompted to declare which high school they wish to attend in the Fall of 2020. They may do this during the High School Selection period from January 11, 2021, through February 5, 2021, or anytime thereafter. Students who move into the District after the High School Selection window has passed may declare a high school choice after establishing residency. However, if the desired school does not have space available, these students may be assigned to the high school with lower enrollment.

When does the high school selection period end?

Only students who wish to change schools must declare which high school they wish to attend by submitting their high school selection online during the filing period beginning January 11, 2021, and ending on February 5, 2021.

When will Sage Creek High School lottery results be mailed out?

If necessary, a lottery will be conducted using a Random Number Generator for Sage Creek High School on February 17, 2021, with results mailed to students and parents on February 24 , 2021. All students participating in a lottery would need to prove residency before their spot is officially reserved.

Do you have to be in the same high school for 2021?

Students who are currently enrolled in grades 9, 10, and 11 who wish to remain at the same high school for the 2021/2022 school year, DO NOT need to participate in the selection process. They will automatically be enrolled in their current school for the following year.
