About Us

PAC is a family business. Since 1974, the Davenport's have owned and directed the studio, formerly, Barbara Jeanne School of Dance. We have grown from Kingshighway to Main Street & finally to our current location on Country Club Plaza Drive.

What is a hip hop class?

All Boys Hip Hop – All Boys Hip Hop is a hip hop class designed specifically for males of all ages.

What is all boys hip hop?

All Boys Hip Hop – All Boys Hip Hop is a hip hop class designed specifically for males of all ages. Various styles of dance are combined including jazz, theatrical, and street dance, which are then primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

What is lyrical dance?

Lyrical – Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz techniques. It is a very passionate and emotional style of dance that portrays emotions and tells a story through every movement made. Contemporary – Contemporary is a fusion of several dance styles including ballet, lyrical, and modern.

What is the difference between jazz and tap?

Jazz – Essential foundation for all dance movement and enables a dancer to focus on the stylistic and performance aspects of dance. Tap – A style of American theatrical dance using precise rhythmical patterns of foot movement and audible foot tapping. Lyrical – Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz techniques.

What is acro dance?

Acro – A unique dance class that is a fusion of dance technique, tumbling, and acrobatics. There are different levels offered, depending on a student’s existing skills. Demonstrated skills include front and back walkovers, aerials, chin stands, back hand springs, etc.

What is ballet technique?

Ballet – Ballet is notable for its techniques, turn out of the legs, its graceful. flowing, precise movements, and its ethereal qualities. Pointe – Pointe work is a part of ballet technique that involves pointe work, where the dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet with pointe shoes.

Is SCDC a dance studio?

SCDC is more then a dance studio, it is another home. Her teammates are family and teachers love her like their own. A positive atmosphere that not only pushes her to be a better dancer, but a better friend to all. Awesome dance studio. My Daughter has been dancing there for three years and the progress is incredible.

Island Dance Company (IDC)

Island School of Performing Arts is proud to host the Island Dance Company, which is a performance team. Our performance company dancers are very talented and train hard with extra classes, workshops and training from many professionals nationally.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons are available ISPA students and others. Private lessons are an option to advance your skills and techniques by a professional dancer. We offer private lessons in all genres of dance including dance team prep, dance company auditions and individual auditions. We provide private lessons for individuals as well as small groups.
