The Vail School District uses the Cognitive Abilities Test to determine gifted eligibility. The Cognitive Abilities Test measures thinking and processing skills in three ability areas: verbal, quantitative, and non-verbal. Testing occurs a minimum of 2 times per year at each site.
The Vail School District encompasses 425 miles and almost 40,000 of those residents. The district boundaries extend to the SE corner of Tucson and all the way out to the eastern border of Pima County. Approximately half of the District’s students live in the City of Tucson; the rest in unincorporated areas.
