How do I get a Parent Portal account?

When a student is first registered in the district, one of the options you can choose is to have a Parent Portal. Only those with Parent Portal option approved will receive an account. You will receive an email welcoming you to our Parent Portal with your login and a temporary password. You will clink on the link, log in - and you are ready to go!

How do I access CPS families portal from a mobile device?

In the case of an iPhone or iPad, we recommend you use the Classlink Launchpad app for CPS Families Portal access from mobile devices. NOTE: Schoology is one of the apps that require the ClassLink OneClick Extension.

How do I sort the icons in the CPS families portal?

To sort the icons, simply right-click on a blank space once logged into the CPS Families Portal and choose Sort By. You can also select Edit Mode for more ways to customize the layout of your particular CPS Families Portal. NOTE: If a folder has a lock on it, it is centrally managed and cannot be adjusted.

How do I use Columbia Public School for families?

Enter "Columbia" and choose Columbia Public School for Families. The app opens a full version (not mobile version) of the websites -- Schoology, Parentlink, etc. Single-Sign-On for the apps we currently have it turned on for should work, though.

How to access parent portal?

To access Parent Portal for the first time, you will need to create a username and password by visiting the Parent Portal Account Sign-up website. Parent Portal Account Sign-up You will be asked to verify your email address and provide information to verify your identity.

Does the school system share parent portal information?

The school system will only share parent portal information with parents and legal guardians.

When a parent registers their student online, is their ParentVue account automatically created?

When a parent registers their student (s) via Student Online Registration, their ParentVue account is automatically created at the beginning of that process. If a parent has never had a ParentVue account, they should request an activation key from the school to create their account.

WHAT IS PARENTVUE/STUDENTVUE?

ParentVUE is a secure web-based information management system that provides parents/guardians the ability to view their child’s assignments, grades, attendance and contact information. ParentVUE is free to all Chesapeake Public Schools families and is available from any computer with internet access. In addition, ParentVUE offers app access for Android and iPhone devices. Students can access the same information via their StudentVUE account.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I LOSE MY PARENT ACTIVATION KEY?

If you don’t have or have lost your activation key for ParentVUE or need assistance with creating your ParentVUE account, please contact your child’s school.

HOW DOES MY STUDENT ACCESS STUDENTVUE?

Students are automatically issued StudentVUE accounts by their assigned school during the class enrollment process (managed by Synergy).

Is ParentVue free?

ParentVUE is free to all Chesapeake Public Schools families and is available from any computer with internet access. In addition, ParentVUE offers app access for Android and iPhone devices. Students can access the same information via their StudentVUE account.

Can parents register students?

Parents can also register students, annually verify current information (phone numbers, emergency contacts, etc), and complete other official district documents within their account on either the web-based platform or the app.
