We offer training to everyone who has an interest in the art of dance. Classes are primarily based on curricula from The Cecchetti Council of America and The Royal Academy of Dance.
Charlotte Ballet Academy offers dance classes for students in a range of ages and with different levels of ability. Drop in classes include Adult Drop In classes, Intersession classes, and Master Classes.
For further questions about the Academy, please email frontdesk@charlotteballet.org Classes are appropriate for ages 3-9. Classes are divided into Level 1 & Level 2 curriculum and appropriate for ages 7+. Classes are divided into Level 3 & Level 4 curriculum and appropriate for ages 10+.
To be considered for acceptance into Charlotte Ballet’s Summer Intensive, dancers must attend an audition scheduled on the National Auditions. Charlotte Ballet places dancers into Levels 1 through 4 that best match their technical ability, physical strength, and understanding of movement.
On March 5, seven Charlotte community and corporate leaders will take the Knight Theater stage and raise funds for Charlotte Ballet and seven local charitable organizations.

Students are not required to have any prior experience in ballet or any other form of dance in order to take classes at the Charlotte School of Ballet. The only necessity is the desire to learn!
Charlotte Ballet Academy offers professionally-led dance classes in Charlotte for children and adults. The Academy provides expert instruction to students who are training for professional careers in dance, as well as adult and child beginners and those who are interested in simply experiencing the joy and benefit of dancing.
Charlotte Ballet Academy and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte have an exciting partnership allowing college students to work toward receiving college credit while training at Charlotte Ballet Academy.
Charlotte Ballet places dancers into Levels 1 through 4 that best match their technical ability, physical strength, and understanding of movement. The highest of the levels is level 4. Dancers are placed in levels before arriving for the Intensive. Dancers will be notified of level placement at the time of acceptance.

Ballet: Solid-colored leotard, pink or flesh tone tights with feet not rolled up, pink or flesh tone ballet shoes with elastics to match tights in color, pointe shoes with ribbons to match tights in color, no skirts except for variations class, repertory class or rehearsals

In a fun and encouraging environment, students explore musicality, rhythm, creativity and movement through space. This class introduces age-appropriate stretching, basic strengthening, balance, motor skill development and coordination.
This class introduces classical ballet vocabulary, emphasizing musicality and individual creative expression in an innovative, fun and easy-to-learn manner.
This is a traditionally structured ballet class which includes French ballet terminology.
