Our Pre-Ballet classes are divided into three distinct levels (Tiny Tots, Creative Dance, and Primary Ballet) in order to provide age-appropriate training for your tiny dancer. Learn more... Cleveland Ballet Conservatory’s carefully designed Primary Division curriculum focuses on the early development of classical ballet technique. Students entering this division have completed Preschool Division classes or have entered into first grade without prior dance experience. Through stretching, barre exercises and floor technique students will develop the foundational skills for future intermediate/advanced dance training. Students in this division may add Tap, Jazz and Modern techniques to their class schedule in this division.
The Cleveland Ballet Conservatory’s specially designed preschool division curriculum paired with the nationally acclaimed “Leap N Learn” syllabus is the perfect first dance experience for your 2-5 year old dancer. Your child’s natural desire to dance will come alive in our exciting classes introducing basic dance techniques. We introduce ballet foundations with the use of dance games and props encouraging your child’s imagination to soar! Children will develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, grace, poise, balance while inspiring their creative minds.
The Progressive DIvision at CBC focuses on the continued development of classical ballet technique. Students entering this division have completed Primary Division prerequisite classes and/or received teacher recommendation to be promoted to this division. Through stretching, bare exercises and floor technique students will focus on strength and artistry. This division includes both graded and recreational class levels. Graded level students are required to maintain full programming in their designated level.
Our studio has several certifications to ensure students are provided curriculum that is effective, save, progressive, and developmentally appropriate. These programs help maintain a positive and nurturing environment for our students.
Our reputable faculty has a combined 181 years of teaching experience. Many hold degrees in dance as well as professional performing experience.

City Ballet of Cleveland (CBC) is a nonprofit, pre-professional company residing at Cleveland CityDance on Shaker Square. The Company has been performing since the mid-90s and is committed to building a professional resident classical ballet company in the future and to retain local talent in Cleveland .
The Company continues performing at the All Ohio Dance Festival and local schools and senior facilities. Many dancers while in the ensemble have also performed with professional companies including Pennsylvania Ballet’s Nutcracker, Kirov Ballet’s La Bayadere and American Ballet Theatre’s Le Corsaire.
