About Us

Cleveland City Dance has offered quality dance instruction since 1965 to nurture students of all ages, talents and passions in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and more. Classes runs 6 days a week including in-studio and virtual instruction all year long.

Children and Adult Dance Programs

We offer class instruction to children, teens and adults. Our studios feature state of the art facilities, including sprung dance floors and durable dance vinyl to provide the appropriate controlled speed for ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz and modern dance. Our studio includes viewing windows which allow parents and supporters to observe the class.

Performance Opportunities

Students celebrate their hard work through annual Spring performances including in-studio and larger theater venues. Opportunities to perform with the City Ballet of Cleveland include the "Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker". This annual show, our Open House performances, and Spring Outreach Show showcases student growth throughout the year.

What is jazz dance?

Jazz. Jazz dance is connected to many rhythmic related dance styles such as tap and ballet, with its music originating from the jazz movement. Find out how jazz has changed from street dance to theatrical dance and incorporates strong acting skills, dynamic movement and musical awareness.

What is modern dance?

Modern. Modern dance, explores basic movement impulses. Floor work exercise improves flexibility, strengthens core muscles and hips. Starting from Children's Beginning Modern and up through Modern I, II and III, students expand inner motivation for movement and learn spatial and rhythmic performance skills.

How old is hip hop?
