Excuses

Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to submit an electronic excuse note through Community Web Portal for the 2020-2021 school year. Excuse notes are required for all absences, tardies, & early dismissals.

Attendance

Once a child enters school at any grade above kindergarten, attendance must be continuous until age 17. Students should strive to be present every day school is in session. All absences and tardies are entered on each student’s permanent record.

Tardy

Tardies are classified as excused/unexcused using the same criteria for general absences. Students arriving to their Block 1 class after 7:40 will be recorded as tardy. Arriving two (2) hours or more late will be recorded as a 1/2 day absence. Routine health care appointments are excused.

Excessive Absences

Ten (10) Day Letter; Notification that a student has had 10 absences that were not excused by a doctor and now requires a physician's excuse for all subsequent absences.

What documents are needed to register a new student in Pennsylvania?

To register a new student, Pennsylvania law requires* you to present the following documents at the central registration office: Birth Certificate: original birth certificate or notarized copy of birth certificate that identifies birth information: date, location (county & state), biological parents' names.

When is kindergarten registration 2021?

Parents registering kindergarten students are strongly encouraged to follow the instructions under Student Registration Information (below) and it will be strongly encouraged that you register your child by Friday, February 26, 2021.
