Just before heading off to winter break the staff of Coosa County Schools was notified that the Coosa County School Board approved a Premium Payment to school employees for their hard work during the COVID pandemic using ESSER funds. Coosa County school employees gathered Saturday evening for their first annual Winter Formal at Poplar Point Camp.
Coosa County Schools will go back to mandatory mask mandates while in Coosa County School buildings and continue to be worn on school buses. Masks will be optional outside of those facilities. This Mandate will continue through the month of January.
Parent Portal is parent access to student information. It allows parents to view their student's records in real-time. When a grade or attendance mark has been entered, you'll be able to see it right away.
The high school held Academic Awards programs for 7th-8th grade students, 9th-11th students, and a special ceremony for 12th grade students. Students were recognized for their academic achievements such as Honor Roll, Outstanding Student, and Most Improved Student.
Volunteering provides the opportunity to gain real-world experience as well as earn the required Cougar Volunteer Hours for graduation.
Student portfolios will include items such as resumes, award certificates, entrance exam score sheets, etc. that will assist students in preparing for college, military, or work.
Central High School students had the opportunity to volunteer during the Summer Learning camps in order to earn their required Cougar Courtesy Hours (25 hours a year for 9th-12th graders and 5 hours a year for 7th-8th graders).
The education of students is a responsibility shared by students, faculty and staff, parents, and the community. All students must have opportunities to learn and to be successful. Maximum student learning takes place in a positive environment that includes consistency and structure.
Belyeu gymnasium. Athletic Director Deborah Phillips was the mistress of ceremonies, SGA president Tytiuna Isom led the attendees in the pledge and blessing, Principal Brandi Lee provided a welcoming message, counselor Misty Wade recognized athletic scholarship recipients Kera Dunham, Olivia Hay, Tytiuna Isom, and Quin Brooks and scholar athletes that achieve both academically and athletically. Coaches recognized their athletes for achievement in their sport. Superintendent David Stover provided closing remarks.
Mrs. Adams then transferred to Central High School in Hanover for one year. When the new elementary and middle School were completed for operation she transferred down the hill to the elementary school. The first year she worked as Special Education Bus Aide and Classroom Aide.
