The New Aspen Parent Portal Chicago Public Schools is excited to announce that starting April 22nd, 2019, Parent Portal will be replaced with a new system called Aspen. Aspen will provide the same capabilities of the old Parent Portal while adding new features including Graduation Requirements, Student Fees and a new, easy-to-use mobile interface.
Existing Student Portal accounts will be automatically be transferred to Aspen. The new Student Portal URL is aspen.cps.edu and you will use your CPS username and password. If you want a look at Aspen, feel free to logon and try it!
Additional formative assessment creation and administration functions will be available in the new Student Assessment System starting August 30. Note: Only teachers with SY 2019-20 rosters in Aspen will have access to the new system.

On your mobile device, type your district 's Aspen URL into the address bar of a web browser. The login screen appears. Tip: Create a bookmark or shortcut to Aspen Mobile on your device's Home screen.
Your student's ID can be found on a report card or contact your school's main office. What is my students password? Grades K - 5 - if this is the first time you are logging in, your default password is the students birthday in the format YYYYMMDD. If you have logged in prior, then use your existing password.
The Aspen platform provides students and families with convenient access to grades, attendance, and additional information about student progress.
To add a new contact, select Options > Add. The New Student Contact page appears. In the Selection Type pop-up, indicate whether Aspen should display Related Contacts, All People or All Contacts. Make your selection, and then click OK.
To protect your account from someone attempting access by trying random passwords, when the wrong password is entered 5 times, your account will be disabled. Should you get locked out, you can unlock the account by successfully completing the “Forgot my password” wizard on the main login page.
