What classes do you offer at CPYB?

Supplemental classes have included character, pointe, variations, modern, partnering, jazz, and hip-hop. While CPYB does not hold auditions for our 5-Week Summer Ballet Program, dancers with previous experience ages 7-18 must submit an application for review and consideration.

CPYB Prep Exam & International Testing Day

The CPYB exam is taken online. It consists of 145 multiple-choice questions. Each question is linked to at least one of the Principal Knowledge Categories/Topics.

Inspiring a Love for Child Ballet

Beginning Ballet Level A is designed for students ages 6-7 who have zero to one year of training (not including preschool classes). Students learn the basic ballet positions, the progression of a standard ballet barre, and learning the French vocabulary that defines all the steps in ballet.

Payment Policy

If the full payment of tuition and/or any other CPYB 5-Week Summer Ballet Program fees along with all required forms and materials are not received by the stated deadlines, the student will be placed on a waiting list.

Withdrawal Policy

Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet must receive written notice of a student withdrawing from the 2022 5-Week Summer Ballet Program through an official withdrawal form. The Parent or Guardian will be responsible for all payments due until this written notice of withdrawal is received. Verbal notification of withdrawal will not be accepted.

Unforeseeable Disasters Policy

As we saw in 2020, there may be unforeseeable disasters that would cause CPYB to restructure and/or cancel our program (s). If CPYB were to alter its program due to an unforeseeable disaster, we will offer discounts, deferments and/or refunds at our discretion.

Refund and Deferment Policy

Tuition paid is non-refundable and non-transferable to another student or program.

What happens if you withdraw from CPYB?

If a participant must withdrawal from the program due to prolonged illness or severe injury that prohibits their participation, verified by a doctor’s certificate, CPYB will consider an account credit option for tuition paid at the time of withdrawal.

How long is the CPYB summer ballet program?

Your students will return stronger and ready to train for the next academic year after attending CPYB’s 5-Week Summer Ballet Program. Encourage your students train Marcia Dale Weary’s syllabus next summer.

When are preballet sessions held?

Sessions are held Monday through Friday including some evening sessions. One of the evening sessions will include a Pre-Ballet demonstration with our Children’s Division Coordinator, Rose Taylor. (Evening sessions are not offered on Friday for travel purposes.)

How to get parent portal in Aspen?

Please contact your school to provide your up-to-date email address and request a Parent Portal account in Aspen. Once parent contact information has been verified by the student’s school, parents will receive a signup email from Aspen. If you don’t receive the signup email, we recommend to check your Spam folder. If you are unable to locate the email, please contact your school for assistance.
