Who will have access to daily attendance and csh report cards?

Parents of all students enrolled in Lloyd Harbor and West Side will have access to daily attendance and CSH report cards. Additionally, parents of students in grades 4 through 6 will have access to the New York State Education Department assessment parent reports for the previous year. Will I still get paper copies of these documents?

What information will parents have access to in the junior high?

Parents of students enrolled in the Junior/Senior High will have online access to student schedules, attendance, New York State Education Department assessment parent reports, CSH progress reports and report cards for grades 7 through 12, and unofficial transcripts for grades 9 through 12.

Where can I find New York state assessment parent reports?

New York State Assessment Parent Reports (Lloyd Harbor, West Side, and the Jr/Sr High): No, these documents will only be accessible via the portal (once they are made available by the state, generally in the fall). Instructions on how to access the reports can be found here.

How do I access my child's information in SchoolTool?

Parents who have provided the district with their e-mail address, may access their child's information through the SchoolTool Parent Portal. You can go directly to the Portal login screen by clicking on the following link.

MakerSpace

Scissors, sewing machines, and saws, oh my! Fifth graders are knee-deep in their MakerSpace projects using a variety of resources, tools, and devices to create student-initiated projects that allow them to learn something new, pursue a passion, or solve problems. The pictured children from Mrs.

Happy 100 Day!

Goosehill is always bustling with excitement on the100th Day of school! Students loved showing off their 100 day crowns, capes, necklaces, and bulletin boards. Adorable! In Ms. Rivera’s class at Lloyd Harbor, second graders rearranged the number “100” into twisted up shapes to make their very own fabulous "100" creative drawings!

Push & Pull

Ms. Ranaldo’s kindergarteners experimented with a science lesson testing the effects of “Push & Pull.” Students used push pins to form snowmen, pushed brooms down the hallways, pulled themselves along on scooters, pulled beads with strings and played various games to measure distance.

Teaching Math with Puppets!

Petra Puppets has been visiting the elementary schools for a number of years through the PTG Cultural Arts Committee. Steve Petra is a delightful professional ventriloquist and puppeteer performing his own scripts, songs and music.

Debate Awards

Tanishka Dhariwal and Amber Zhou (sophomores, pictured left to right) won 1st place at the Public Forum Debate tournament at Jericho High School on Feb 12 with a 4-0 record, building upon their earlier victory at the January 15 Virtual Debate Tournament, and earning a full qualification to the State Championships in Speech and Debate.

The Return of Dodgeball!

Much to the delight of the students, this beloved event was back in play on Wednesday night Feb 16. Run by Student Government, teams dress up by grade to face-off against each other for the coveted trophy.

The CSH Model United Nations Club traveled in late January to Philadelphia for the ILMUNC (Ivy League Model United Nations Conference). In total, 59 club members attended the conference with their advisor, Mr. Vincent Natale, who has been club advisor for 17 years.

Nassau County Division II Wrestling Championship

Congratulations to senior Jackson Polo who won his third Nassau County Division II Wrestling Championship, along with winning the most outstanding wrestler and most pins in the least amount of time at the Section VIII County Championships on Feb. 12. Next stop the NY State Championship beginning Feb 25, good luck Jackson!

Junior High Visits the DNA Learning Center

Junior High 8th graders were excited to go on a field trip to the DNA Learning Center on February 8 to participate in a DNA Restriction Analysis. In the experiment, two different restriction enzymes were used to cut DNA from the Lambda virus.
