Who was John Daffron?

John Marshall Daffron (1863-1928) was born in Kentucky and named after the United States Chief Justice, John Marshall. He moved to Murphy, Texas, when he was 21 and married Maude Salmon. He was a farmer known for raising prize-winning bronze turkeys which he shipped across the Southwest. John Daffron valued education.

What did John Daffron value?

John Daffron valued education. In the evenings, the Daffron family would gather around the fireplace where John would listen to his children recite their school lessons. He also saw that his eleven children had opportunities for training in elocution, dance, drawing and music.
