District 196 adds texting as an option for communication

Parent/guardians can now choose to receive text messages about important updates, weather cancellations or delays and school reminders by texting "Y" to 67587.

Portal Setup Instructions

Schoology

First time users will need a parent access code to set up your Schoology account. Please contact your child’s school or schoology@district196.org to receive a code.

Can students participate in extracurricular activities?

Dakota Ridge students are able to participate in extracurricular activities at their home school. A bus will take the student to the home school in time to participate. Work with your student's case manager to determine access.

How are students grouped into classrooms?

Classroom assignment is decided collaboratively between administration and the IEP team based on classroom availability, general age ranges (classes all have mixed grades), and the level of adult support needed.

What school calendar do you follow?

Dakota Ridge follows the District 196 Elementary Calendar. We will provide the Dakota Ridge calendar in the mailing sent prior to school or at the intake meeting.

Do you follow district curriculum?

We do teach the district curriculum and standards. Remember, curriculum will be adapted to the needs of our students. Do students transition out of Dakota Ridge?

Family Portal

Beginning in December 2021, the Infinite Campus Parent Portal will replace much of the functionality that Jeffco Connect used to provide, specifically maintaining and updating contact information, paying fees, and completing the registration process each year.
