About Danes Hill. Danes Hill School is widely recognised as one of the leading co-educational day preparatory schools in the country. Situated in 55 acres of landscaped ground in the village of Oxshott, Surrey, Danes Hill provides boys and girls aged 3 to 13 with a broad and balanced curriculum.
Our parent body, Friends of Danes Hill (the FODH ), are equally welcoming to new parents and there are plenty of opportunities and events for new Danes Hill families to immerse themselves quickly into the school community. Please see below online medical forms for visiting children.
Children work hard at school, but we consciously avoid encroaching on time at home with excessive demands after school and at weekends. With wonderful facilities and set in the rolling Hampshire countryside, Daneshill offers an inspiring, safe and fresh environment in which children can play, learn, grow and breathe.

Some parents are keen to register their child straight after the school tour but we always advise them to go home and think about it first - this is a big decision and it is very important that you are absolutely sure Danes Hill is the school for your child.
Children are welcome join our Nursery from the term they turn 3 years old. Our Nursery is made up of two year groups, Mini Transition (rising 3s) and Transition (rising 4s) and places are allocated on a first come first served basis so early registration is recommended.
Many new children are welcomed to Bevendean Pre-prep in Reception. There is no assessment for children joining Danes Hill School at this stage and places are offered in the order of which registrations are received so we urge families to register sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
Year 3 is a popular year for children to join Danes Hill School as they perhaps finish at the local state infant schools or their London Pre-prep School. Children joining Year 3 and above are invited to attend an Assessment Morning.
Many children choose to join Danes Hill School in Year 7 to reap the benefits of a nurturing prep school education before joining their senior school in Year 9. Children will be asked to attend an Assessment Morning ahead of being offered a place which we will do within 48 hours.
While the majority of children join Danes Hill School in Nursery, Reception, Year 3 or Year 7 we are always delighted to welcome children into other year groups if space permits. We will ask for recent school reports for children joining in Year 1 and above.
We understand that it is not always possible to start at the beginning of the academic year particularly for families moving to the area or overseas families who are relocating. We always aim to be as flexible and as accommodating as possible and children can join Danes Hill in the Spring or Summer Terms if space permits.
The Trust continues to fund a number of bursaries to pupils in accordance with its Bursaries and Financial Assistance Policy.
