The Debbie Allen Middle School for the Arts will be an independent, private school for aspiring young dancers in grades 6-8. Starting in the Fall of 2021, Debbie Allen's Middle School will be a place for students to nurture their creativity and explore the connections between the academic world with dance and the theatre arts.
Each grade level will be capped at 15 students with a total enrollment of 45 students by 2023. All classes are held on-site at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, 3791 Santa Rosalia Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90008.
In a career that spans three decades, the name Debbie Allen is synonymous with dynamic energy, creative talent and innovation. For her vast body of work, Ms. Allen has earned three Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, five NAACP Image Awards, a Drama Desk, an Astaire Award (for Best Dancer), and the Olivier Award.
The Academy provides a comprehensive curriculum for the committed student, ages eight and up. With an emphasis on Classical Ballet and Modern Dance, Academy students follow a schedule designed by Ms. Allen. Techniques studied also include African, Dunham, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Jazz and Tap Dance.

We believe a combined academic and performing arts curriculum, located at DADA, will benefit young aspiring dancers to foster a life-long love of learning. The Debbie Allen Middle School academic program will have the foundation for students to have a superior and quality arts education experience in dance and the theatre arts.
