What is DeWitt's Google Apps?

Just like regular Google Apps, these documents, spreadsheets, presentations, calendar and web sites are available for use anywhere the web is available. Every DeWitt student and teacher is eligible for an account.

What is the DeWitt planner?

At DeWitt Middle School, we provide planners for students to write all assignments and upcoming work in a consistent place. Students are also welcome to use their own planner (electronic or paper).

What is the phone number for the school to call if a child is absent?

If your child is going to be absent, please call our 24 hour attendance line, 668-3247, by 8:00 am each day. Students are excused only if we receive a phone call or a note from a parent. Also, please send a note with your child if he/she will be leaving for an appointment during the school day.

Can students use their own planner?

Students are also welcome to use their own planner (electronic or paper). Teachers write all upcoming assignments, projects, etc. on the whiteboards in their classrooms and many also post this information to their websites. Teachers spend time at the start of the year teaching students how to best use their planners.

Parent Involvement

Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.

Parents and athletes need to manage their SportsEngine accounts to ensure they get the most out of their Dewitt Junior Panthers experience during each sporting season.

Keep connected to your team (s). Get schedules and team updates for every athlete in the house, plus a way to message other members on your team and a way to give coaches a heads up about practice. Enjoy unlimited access to scores & stats, photo/video sharing, and more.

ESSENTIAL PARENT HOW-TO'S

In many instances, more than one parent or guardian needs to be in the loop with a child's sports life. Using the mobile app, you can add additional guardians to an account. Guardians can 1) View games and events 2) RSVP to games and events 3) Send and receive messages to coaches and team members 4) participate in team chat
