How do I access the PowerSchool Parent Portal?

PowerSchool Parent Portal is a vital tool for parents that gives access to important student information such as report cards, school fees, attendance, bus stop information, etc. Please contact the school to set up your account, if you do not have one already! How do I Activate my Campus parent account?

Important notice to new users: You will activate your Campus Parent account by entering the Activation Key sent to you by the school district. Please RETYPE the activation key code as it appears or use “CONTROL C” and “CONTROL V” to copy and paste it in the “New User” screen.

Device Specifications

Below are specifications of devices provided most frequently for student use in classrooms. Computer hardware and software used for education qualify for Minnesota’s income tax K-12 Education Credit and Subtraction (please read this information from the Department of Revenue or consult your tax preparer).

In-School Wireless

The primary object of our wireless and internet access is to provide wireless coverage and internet access to devices used for classroom and classroom related access for learning. It is not our intention to provide access for personal use related to non-school work in areas such streaming, texting, gaming, etc.

WiFi Options Away From School

Comcast and CenturyLink offer affordable internet as low as $9.95 a month*.

What is a Chromebook and why was it selected?

The district’s focus is not the device or brand, but on using technology effectively. A device is another tool for our excellent teachers to promote transformational learning experiences in Eastern Carver County Schools. A Chromebook is a laptop that primarily runs web-based software and Google’s Android operating system.

How do I connect to my WiFi at home?

Click on the Wi-Fi icon on the lower left of the Chromebook to see a list of available networks. Click on the name of the network that you wish to connect to and then enter the Wi-Fi password (if it is password protected)). More information on connecting the Chromebook to Wi-Fi can be found by clicking here.

How long will my battery last?

While battery time will vary depending on what you are doing, in general Chromebooks have exceptional battery length. When fully charged a Chromebook should last the entire school day. Student Chromebooks need to be charged nightly so they are ready for the next day at school.

Can a student use a personal Google account they have already created instead of the district's account?

No. Eastern Carver County Schools has adopted Google Apps for Education. Only the account that Eastern Carver County Schools creates for each student is the account supported on the Chromebooks.
