The STEM Academy is a FREE college-preparatory program located at Roy J. Smith Middle School and Nolan Middle School for six through eight graders who are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The goal of the STEM Academy is to support a diverse learning community based on common interests. The STEM Academy supports students in developing a vision of future academic and career possibilities and enables students to translate those visions into the realities of college graduation, informed citizenship, and international leadership.

Killeen ISD employees are earning stipends for referring teacher candidates who get hired in the district. In the first ten days of the new stipend program, eight teachers earned the $500 stipend!
