What track do you follow in high school?

High School students can choose to follow the UC/CSU A-G track or the customized college track to complete high school graduation requirements. Each Excel student and family has the support of a credentialed school counselor.

Our IB Learner Profile for the month of February is Communicator. Students who are Communicators understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and in a variety of modes of communication. They work effectively and willingly in collaboration with others.

A Message from our Charter Operator: SEED, Inc

We want to welcome Mrs. Carmen Wilson as the newly-appointed parent representative to the SEED/EXCEL Board! Throughout the years, Ms. Wilson has been a very active and engaged parent at EXCEL and is the mother of two scholars, Cameron in 5th grade and Calvin in first grade. We look forward to collaborating with her.

What is SPC in Excel?

The SPC works closely with the School Site Council to review the school’s budget, recommend programs, sponsor events and solve problems. Excel High School Site Council , (SSC) and School Parent Council (SPC) meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of every month from 4:00- 6:00 PM at Excel High School, in room 211. All are welcome!

It is that time of year again when we get to connect with families and discuss student progress. Spring conferences are student led and this allows teachers and families to hear their perspectives about their strengths, areas of growth, and their plan forward as they continue through the spring.

Calendar for 2022-2023 School Year

Thank you all for your input in the calendar survey. In response to feedback from the community, the Excel Board was able to approve the calendar linked here for the upcoming school year. This allowed families to have more district-aligned breaks and maintained breaks the community appreciates that are unique to our scheduling.

No Masks Starting February 22, 2022

After the end of the day on Friday, February 18, 2022, masks are no longer required per public health order 21-006 in Jefferson County. This means when we return to school on February 22, 2022 families may choose not to wear masks.

Our New Assistant Director

Breakfast 7:55am to 8:15am

We began offering student breakfast at Excel each morning at 7:55 in the cafeteria. We are happy that students are starting the day with a healthy breakfast! Please be sure students are dropped off by 7:55 if you want them to have breakfast. We cannot have them going to class late and want them to have that time to eat.
