Farragut Elementary School is the home to approximately 700 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Farragut School is located in the heart of the Cathedral Area across the street from the University of St. Francis and adjacent to Preservation Park. Farragut School was erected in 1899.

This secure site provides an easy way to view student academic information including: Family Portal also allows you to email teachers and set automatic email notifications if a grade falls below a specific threshold. Additionally, some teachers use the site to build classroom pages and to manage parent communication.
Every Tuesday the KCS IT Helpdesk sends an email to ALL parents who have a valid email listed at their child's school and who do not already have a Aspen Family Portal login. That email contains a link to register for Aspen Family Portal and directions for creating your own login.
FPS opens at 7:15 for car riders and walkers. All students enter the building through the cafeteria door on the car rider side. The bus lane opens up at 7:25 for students that are able to get out of the car on their own.
School is dismissed at 2:45 p.m. In order for all of our students to load their buses, cars, and daycare vans, we begin loading for dismissal at 2:30 p.m. The office will not accept any early dismissals after 2:15 p.m. If your child has an appointment, please be sure to have them picked up before 2:15 p.m. Please remember - a photo I.D.
The automated calls you get from FPS and/or the district are important. Please listen to the message. DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL asking what the message was. With close to 1,000 students, this is tying up phone lines that could be needed in an emergency.
Tennessee has a law regarding cell phone use in school zones. As of January 1, 2018 it became illegal to hold your cell phone in a moving vehicle within a school zone, this means flashing light to flashing light, not just on school property. It is a Class C Misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of up to $50.

Farragut School was erected in 1899. It was a beautiful limestone building on the corner of Glenwood and Wilcox. Named after Admiral Farragut, it had eight rooms. The second building was built in 1915.
