What happens to my pin and password when returning to Ferndale schools?

Returning Ferndale Schools parents and students will have the same pin and password. Your pin and password are valid throughout your Ferndale Schools Enrollment. Parents and students please keep your pin and password in safe place. MISTAR pin and password will only be available electronically.

Who is the new curriculum coordinator for Ferndale schools?

Tiwanya joins the district as a Curriculum Coordinator & SACC Coordinator. She brings over 20 years of experience in education to her new role with Ferndale Schools. She has served in a variety of capacities in education, including Instructional Coach, District-wide School Improvement Coach, and Climate & Culture Supervisor.

Tracking Unsubmitted Assignments - Google Classroom & Canvas

This section aims to provide parents with support in navigating the two main learning platforms being used in Ferndale Schools (grades 6-12) during this virtual school year: Google Classroom and Canvas.

Google Account

All Ferndale School students have google accounts. Using a Single Sign-On process, students can access most learning resources by clicking Sign On Using Google buttons where available and entering student account info.

MISTAR & Communications

If you are not receiving communications from Remind via either email, phone, or text, you may need to update your contact information in MISTAR. To do this, or to use MISTAR for anything else, access your account through the MISTAR Student Connect Portal or MISTAR Parent Portal.

Remind

Beginning in the 2020-21 School Year, Ferndale Schools has implemented Remind, a new tool that will enable easier and more comprehensive communication between families, teachers and the school district.

FERPA

Immunizations are an important part of keeping our children healthy. Schools and State and Local health departments must monitor immunization levels to ensure that all communities are protected from potentially life-threatening diseases and, if necessary, respond promptly to an emerging public health threat.

Curriculum

Classrooms are set up to reflect the topic being taught: displays, role play areas and resources, such as books and artifacts are used.

Teachers assess the children in their classes all the time, through ongoing observation, questioning and by marking their books.
