Log into Parent Portal. On the left side of the home screen you will see tabs listed as Portal, School Information, Preferences, etc. Select the “Forms” tab. Select the “Online Applications” box which will appear under the “Forms” tab.
Welcome to Parent Portal After attaching all of your students, you will arrive at the Parent Portal homepage. To view details in a particular category click on one of your students then select the category you wish to view.
When finished, click the box next to “I’m not a robot” and then click “Add Student.” After clicking “Add Student,” the screen will reload and information for that student will appear. Repeat these steps to attach additional students to your Parent Portal account.

It has been fun and games lately in Marilyne Strang’s first-grade class at FGL, with students creating and playing their own board games, an activity that reinforces ELA and math skills, as well as social skills and communication.
New York State has provided the Hendrick Hudson School District with COVID-19 tests for all students and staff. Tests will be distributed this week, and it is recommended that students are tested on Sunday, February 27, before returning to school following the break.

The Pen Pal Project is a fun-filled initiative that is helping Hendrick Hudson’s K-5 students build new connections with others in the same grade ahead of next year’s implementation of the Princeton Plan. The activity is also helping fifth graders feel more comfortable with their transition to middle school.
Westchester County, in partnership with Quadrant Biosciences, is offering free saliva-based PCR COVID-19 testing. Testing is available Monday through Friday at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and is open to everyone.
The International Student Program at Fox Valley Lutheran H.S. is the direct result of host families who open their homes to students from all over the world. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to learn about other cultures and share their Christian faith. A stipend is included to offset the cost of hosting the students.
Skyward Family Access is the student management system we use at FVL. This program allows families to access student grades, lunch account information, course schedule, attendance records, and fee management/payment information. It also allows parents to update email addresses making sure they receive school alert information and school directory access.

If you wish to meet with a Guidance Counselor, it is best to set up an appointment with them by phone or email before coming to FVL since each counselor’s schedule varies during the summer. Email will be the best way to reach a counselor, and if they are in town, they will strive to answer within one business day.

ALL STUDENTS must complete the FVL Handbook agreement by August 20 or the first day of fall sports practice/tryouts, whichever comes first. Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program or VPK is a free educational program that prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond. Children must live in Florida and be 4 on or before September 1 of the school year they enroll.
Florida’s School Readiness Program or SR offers financial assistance to eligible low-income families for early education and care so they can become financially self-sufficient and their young children can be successful in school in the future. Services vary based on individual needs and range from extended day care to after-school and school-age care in some instances.
The Parent Portal is a service offered to parents and guardians for accessing certain student records. The service allows parents and guardians to access information about ALL of their students through one convenient website. This eliminates the need to visit several different websites, make telephone calls or visit the school to access records and information.
If you have a registered Parent Portal account, visit https://focusk12.polk-fl.net/focus/ and enter your username and password. Your username is the personal email address that you used when you registered your account.
Obtain a P.I.N. number for each of your students by visiting his or her school. This P.I.N. is unique to your student and only your student. Parents/guardians must show proof at the school in order to receive this unique P.I.N. number DO NOT share this P.I.N. number with others.
