Florence is the home of the district's administration offices, Fremont Elementary School, Fremont Middle School, and Florence High School, newly built in 2006. Penrose is home to a K-5 elementary school built in 2005.
Click to view a slideshow of district renovations. Florence 1 Schools has introduced a brand-new economics course this school year, becoming the first K-12 school district in the state to offer it. The district was able to introduce the course thanks, in part, to a grant from The School Foundation.
In 2021 Florence 1 had a 91.2 percent graduation rate, the district’s highest graduation rate ever, compared to the state’s 83.3 percent. Students are required to attend school a minimum of 170 of the school year 180 days to receive credit for the academic school year.
