Forsyth County Schools is home to 11 outstanding middle schools, featuring grades sixth through eighth grade. All facilities are state of the art and include a cafeteria, media center, gymnasium, and outdoor athletic fields. The buildings are the same prototype but vary between one and two-story designs.

Breakfast and lunch are served daily to students. In addition to the traditional schools, FCS also offers a 6-12 virtual program, Forsyth Virtual Academy, and an alternative program at Gateway Academy.

The middle school day begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:15 pm. Based on primary residency, school attendance lines determine which middle school children attend. Students study basic skills such as language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Students in grades six through eight receive grade reports on a quarterly basis throughout the school year. The interim reports are issued at the nine and 27-week points and the report cards are issued at 18 and 36 weeks.
