Garfield Elementary is located at 600 South 8 th Street. The school was completely rebuilt and reopened in 2007. The newer school has given the school community a sense of pride that shows each day in attitudes and behaviors. Garfield teachers serve approximately 300 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The "Rock Stars'are the mascot and blue and orange are the school's colors. Lori Cox is the principal at Garfield and leads the staff with a vision of "achieving excellence for all students using data from assessments to provide focused learning opportunities".

I made several reminders this week for students to find/ remember to bring their water bottles to school. Winter is such a dry season, and our students need to be drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Welcome to Garfield School District. The Garfield school district is comprised of approximately five thousand students housed in seven elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. In addition, the district also offers PreK education to three and four-year-old children in various locations in the city.
These programs include various Special Education programs, Gifts and Talents, Honors Courses and Advanced Placement courses.
