Make checks or money orders payable to GEORGIA TECH. When you provide a check as payment, you authorize Georgia Tech to either to use the information from your check to make a one-time electronic funds transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check transaction.
Georgia Tech uses an outside vendor to process credit card payments. A 2.85% service fee is charged by the vendor for this service. The credit card service fee is automatically added to the amount of the payment at the time it is made. A service fee may be avoided by paying via an electronic check or by mailing a check to the Bursar's Office.
For instructions on paying via a bank to bank wire transfer, please login to the Student Payment Portal and look under Announcements on the left side. Authorized users (parents or others who have been granted access) may login to the Parent Payment Portal for these instructions.
Prepayment of fees is accepted; however, prepayment does not guarantee a student will successfully register for any or all classes needed. It is the student's responsibility to properly register for classes by the registration deadline.
Although students register for classes with the University Registrar rather than the Bursar, their standing with the Bursar's Office may affect their registration. Account balances are payable by the published deadlines for each academic term. Registration is not complete until all fees have been paid.
GRAs and GTAs should sign up for payroll deduction instead of the Georgia Tech Payment Plan. Summer 2021 Payment Plan Enrollment Dates: May 6th, 2021 through May 24th , 2021. The GT Payment Plan allows a student to defer payment for up to 50% of the current term's tuition and mandatory fee charges OR the account balance, whichever is less.
To pay your monthly housing charges, log into Bill Payment using the "Pay Now" link on the Bursar website, click the "Make a Payment" button, and then select the Housing charge you want to pay. This will ensure that the payment pays the Housing charge and not the next installment.
Under the payment plan terms, half of the deferred balance is due approximately 30 days after classes begin and the remaining amount is due approximately 60 days into the term ...
Otherwise, payments you make will automatically go towards the next installment payment.
If your student account balance is fully covered by financial aid you cannot sign up for the GT Payment Plan. Also, if you have a prior term balance, you need to pay it before you can sign up for the Plan. I paid off an installment and now I see an amount due for it.
Additionally if a tuition waiver posts to your account, a payment is made on your account, or your financial aid award is adjusted, the installment amounts recalculate accordingly. This recalculation is done at least daily. You will receive an e-mail notifying you that your installment amounts have changed.
