GTA Negotiations Update: October 11, 2021

Glendale Unified school and district leaders met with members of the GTA bargaining team to discuss a proposed MOU related to responsibilities and compensation for union members when student quarantine is necessary.

Glendale Unified Reaches Agreement with Glendale Teachers Association on MOU for COVID-19 Safety Measures

Safety measures include masks, physical distaning, weekly COVID-19 testing, and vaccinations for employees and volunteers. Once approved, the MOU will remain in effect until June 14, 2022.

Glendale Unified Reaches Agreement with California School Employees Association on MOU for COVID-19 Safety Measures

The MOU includes a commitment that Glendale Unified will continue to uphold all health and safety guidelines from the California and Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health. Once approved, the MOU will remain in effect until June 30, 2022.

Glendale Unified Requires COVID-19 Vaccinations for All Employees

The Glendale Unified Board of Education adopted a resolution Tuesday requiring all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by November 1.

SCHOLASTIC BOWL TEAM: The Scholastic Bowl Team will be holding tryouts soon. If you are interested in competing for a spot on CV’s academic decathlon team, please sign up in Room 5310. Tryouts will be at lunch time on various days.

COUNSELORS' CORNER

CURRENT JUNIORS: Female students interested in government and current events and who show strong leadership abilities should consider applying to Girls State. The week-long summer program sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary will be in June 2022.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

CV ROBOTICS SOCK DRIVE: CV Robotics is having a Sock Drive from Tuesday, November 2nd to November 30th. We are collecting new socks for any age and any size for those in need in the upcoming winter season. Socks must be new due to the current pandemic and for health - safety precautions.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Edison Scholars Program - is awarding up to (30) $40,000 scholarships to graduating seniors enrolling in a 4-year college in the fall with plans to pursue studies in an eligible major in computer/information services, engineering, engineering technology, management info systems, math or physical sciences.
