Prior to the start of the 21-22 school year, Connecticut enacted PA 21-46 An Act Concerning Social Equity and the Health, Safety and Education of Children. Students are now allowed 2 EXCUSED school days to care for their mental health. These are in addition to the 9 excused days they may take for any reason.
Parents/Guardians who need their student dismissed early must provide a note, email, or phone call to their house administrator indicating the date, time and reason for dismissal. Please visit the House Administration page for your student’s contact information.
Hamden Public Schools offers students access to technology, including the computer network and Internet to enhance and support student learning. It is important for students to use all technology in a safe and respectful manner.
It is critically important that we have the correct contact information documented in PowerSchool.
HMS uses an automated communication system to efficiently and effectively contact parents. Emergency closings, delayed openings, and reminders of important events are some of the reasons for an automated phone call. Please keep the office informed of accurate and current contact numbers.
Hamden Middle School provides students with many opportunities to get involved in organized sports. For a complete listing of sports, seasonal announcements, and the required forms and medical assessments to play, please visit our Hamden Public Schools Athletics Page.
