How do I set up the parent portal?

All parents have access to Parent Portal to view your child’s attendance history, schedule, grades, manage notifications, and allow you to edit directory information such as email addresses. In order to set up your account and access the Parent Portal for the first time, you will need the Parent Portal letter from your child's school.

Do parents need their own Parent Portal account?

Note that your student also has a student account that they login to, but it's important for parents to have their own account. How to contact Harbor Heights Elementary School?

Please contact your child’s teacher by calling the Harbor Heights office ( 253 530-1800) or by visiting the classroom before or after school. When calling, ask to speak directly to the classroom teacher. When visiting, please check in at the office and our office personnel will call the classroom to let them know of your arrival.

Why is regular attendance important at Harbor Heights?

At Harbor Heights skills and lessons are taught and reviewed daily. Regular attendance is important to your child’s academic success. Our mission can be attained when students regularly attend school.

What to do if you see a phone number on Peninsula School District?

If you see a Peninsula School District or Harbor Heights phone number on your caller ID, we encourage you to check your messages before calling our office. The call could be an automated message, a call from any staff member in the building or from your student. If you call our office with the expectation that we will know who called you, we will do our best to assist you but we likely won’t know where the call originated or what it was about. Make sure your child knows to leave you a message if they ever call you so you aren’t left wondering who called you and why.

Why should I put my child on the bus?

If at all possible, put your child on the bus! It increases their chances of being on time to school, improves parking lot congestion and safety, and is better for the environment.

What should be left at the front office of a child's school?

Lunches, homework, notes, etc. that need to be delivered to your child need to be left at the front office. We will make sure they receive them.

When are parent teacher conferences?

Parent/Teacher conferences are held each October and March. This is a perfect way to connect with your child’s teacher and to find out how to best support your child at home.

Adding Additional Students in Parent Portal

It is imperative that your child's school has the most up-to-date information regarding your contact information and information pertaining to your child. Please ensure that you complete the returning student forms within the Parent Portal.

PowerSchool Parent Portal App

PowerSchool has an app available for download to your mobile device. The app gives quick access to grades, attendance, etc.

Parent Portal Year Round Update Instructions

Parents have the ability to log into their Parent Portal account and click the Year Round Update link to review and make changes to their contact information. If you don’t already have a ParentPortal account you will have to create one. For information on creating an account go to psd401.net/parent-portal.
