You seek a school that nurtures and celebrates children and families reflecting the full spectrum of humanity. Hartsbrook is committed to continuous evaluation of what’s needed to best deliver curriculum relevant to today’s children.
You value an unhurried childhood and adolescence in which children and teens are allowed to develop emotionally, socially, and academically without undue pressure.
Together we will learn how to observe and meet a baby’s needs at different developmental stages, and how to create a home life that supports healthy and joyful growth. We enroll “expecting parents” into this class as well as parents with babies up to 18 months.
Parents and children meet for a weekly class that gives a taste of the Waldorf Early Childhood program. Together we enjoy a morning of work and creative play, songs, outdoor time, and connection with each other. We offer a supportive environment for both child and parent during the early years of parenting.
Young children thrive on opportunities to connect with the wonder and freedom of the outdoors. In our outdoor class, parents and children take nature walks, collect leaves, make crafts, share a hot meal, and enjoy the company of other young families. A classroom is available for quiet time if needed.

We are currently planning to have these events, but please know that we are monitoring the situation with COVID-19 carefully and will communicate the health and safety measures necessary for these events.
During the first years of life, children build a foundation of health that stays with them throughout their entire lives.
In our Early Childhood classrooms, we provide rich exposure to language and culture through stories, songs and verses. Children experience social interactions through play and practical activity.
The Hartsbrook School’s Forest Kindergarten offers a sanctuary for childhood, tucked into the banks of a brook at the foot of the Seven Sisters Range. Here, the natural world provides a unique environment for the education of the whole child.
