Hempfield High School proudly presents The Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum as its spring musical. Three performances will take place from Friday, March 4 through Sunday, March 6 in the school’s Performing Arts Center. A senior citizen preview performance of The Wizard of Oz is slated for Thursday, March 3.
The 12th Annual Hempfield School District School Drive kicks off in February! This food drive is presented by J.K. Mechanical and will benefit the Hempfield Area Food Pantry.
On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, the Hempfield School Board discussed the District’s Health and Safety Plan and effective Friday, January 14, 2022, revised COVID-related protocols will go into effect.
The Hempfield School District is proud to provide a wide breadth of athletic opportunities. We sponsor 44 interscholastic athletic teams with the goal of enhancing the student experience while supporting community engagement and spirit. Athletic involvement promotes personal growth, encourages physical activity, builds discipline and teamwork, and imparts critical life lessons about sportsmanship, integrity, and overcoming adversity. The Board reaffirms these principles and supports student participation in district athletic programs.
The recognition ceremony will be held on the National Day of Signing, Wednesday, February 3, at 3:00 p.m. in the Hempfield High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) Due to COVID-19 restrictions, each student-athlete will be given 3 tickets for family/friends to attend the ceremony in the PAC.
The first and foremost purpose of the Hempfield School District is to provide the best education for our student athletes. Athletics are an extension of the academic curriculum. Athletics contribute to the physical, social, emotional and moral development of the students involved.
In order to register your child you must first have an email account. If you already have an email address, please complete the online new student registration. After you complete the registration, you can then create a parent portal account which will allow you to check your child’s grades, attendance, and see special events at the school.

Primary Goal 1: Increase Student Performance HISD student performance will demonstrate growth evidenced on state and national standardized assessments, thu s narrowing achievement gaps to graduate all students equipped for college and career readiness. Any grade level, or subject with more than an 8% achievement gap will be targeted for improvement.
