Hoover Middle School enjoys a reputation for academic, visual & performing arts excellence that spans over 50 years. Our staff works together to rededicate ourselves to this tradition, while also providing digital access to foster skills and programs that prepare our young people with the technological skills required of the 21st century. Ensuring access and equity for our families who have historically had the most difficulty integrating into our community is Hoover's priority. Our vision is to see all of our students, regardless of ethnicity or socioeconomic status, become successful in our school. Our teachers work collaboratively to plan lessons and assess student learning. We are consciously developing joyful learning in our classrooms through an emphasis with a hands-on approach to learning. Students also enjoy learning experiences in music, dance, and fine arts. Our Chinese and Spanish Immersion programs recognize not only language needs, but also multicultural understanding and appreciation. We have also established daily access to Spanish and Chinese translation through our dedicated family liaisons, who promote opportunities for families to be engaged and involved in our school community.#N#Hoover is committed to listening and responding to our students, families, and staff within a culture of service and support. At Hoover, we believe we are here to provide the tools to build academic and social skills, increase self-esteem, and foster positive adolescent development. We continue to explore new ways to develop our culture so that every family and student in our school feels included.
School communities gather twice a year to review data and previous actions in order to intentionally plan for the coming months. The School Plan for Student Achievement is the template on which this review and stakeholder engagement process is codified.
