In early June, Herricks Middle School administrators Mr. Brian McConaghy, Mrs. Horton, and Mr. Hubbard met with families of rising 6th-grade students to go over pertinent information about transitioning to the middle school and answering parent questions.

In new ranking results announced by U.S. News & World Report, Herricks Middle School placed among the top middle schools in New York State at No. 29 and is No. 3 out of those from Long Island. The building’s reading and math performance data was described as “Well Above Expectation” by the publication.
The Herricks Public Schools is excited to announce that students will now have the opportunity to achieve the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB). The NYSSB recognizes students who develop high levels of proficiency in English and one or more world languages.
The Herricks Public Schools was ranked No. 7 on Niche.com’s list of Best School Districts in the State of New York out of 672 districts. Herricks is No. 5 among those listed from Long Island and received an overall Niche grade of A+.
