Highgate’s Design, Technology and Engineering Department spans throughout the curriculum from KS1-5. All the content of the DTE curriculum is linked to context, the outside world and is interdisciplinary in nature. We help students become creative problem solvers as an individual and as a member of a team, by equipping them with transferable hard and soft skills. All of this is amplified by utilising state of the art workshops, robotic equipment, enrichment outside of the classroom and exclusive industry visits and encouraging both girls and boys to compete in international STEM competitions.

Creative arts are an exciting subject area at Highgate. From Technical Theatre Club and Theatre Studies Enrichment to Film Society and our annual French play, we have exciting facilities and opportunities for all those who like to perform.

Our sport and exercise team consists of over 32 Specialist coaches who implement a curriculum which challenges and inspires every pupil. We are lucky to have over 23 acres of green space, a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, netball courts, basketball courts, squash courts, an Astroturf and a strength and conditioning suite to help pupils develop their full potential from the age of 4 to 18.
Highgate’s a fun and wonderful school. It might feel scary on the first day, but as you get used to it, you never want to leave! I love the eco society and taking part in House competitions. I get to take part in lots of different things in DTE and science too.
